Which ideas would you want to convey to a future civilization? Why?

  • Be good ancestors!
Jonas Salk's question could help it last.
(I obviously didn't know how to do that, otherwise my civilization wouldn't have collapsed - or at least I would have been more specific. So this might need more work. but it seems a useful start.
  • Richard Feynman in one of his books asked himself the question what one piece of information he'd want to transmit to a future civilization if that was all he could say. He answered (if I remember well) that it should be that all events in nature are the results of individual interactions (please correct with the exact wording)
that doubtlessly tells a lot about quantum electrodynamics. Not sure, though, it would be understood well by a civilization that didn't know it already and wouldn't help it last any more than it helps ours last. Feynman was brilliant and probably a great guy, but we should make a better effort.
