Stichting milliongenerations is a not-for-profit foundation ("Stichting milliongenerations" in Dutch) and initially based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. It has a charter and is governed by a board. It still needs a lot of work to make it work properly towards the goals. Welcome!
Purpose, Mission
Its purpose is to
- enable the contributions,
- define, to communicate and to maintain the Milliongenerations:purpose of milliongenerations.org and
- ensure the focus and independence.
This includes maintaining the site (www.milliongenerations.org) and building the environment for the contributions, where a focused discussion and generation of ideas can take place. It also includes efforts to communicate its cause and to encourage and potentially support the continuation of civilizations as long as possible.
Values and Vision
Need to be clarified. Discussed on the discussion page
End of the organization
The organization should be set up for a limited time, probably 25 years. If it has not achieved its purpose within that time it probably won't. After this period or should it need to be resolved earlier, means still at its disposal shall go to not-for-profit organizations that help similar causes and such as the WikiMedia Foundation have been helpful to its cause.
