(Notes from the interviewed: The first picture was what someone of the 16th century would ask me now. But a million generations is much longer (about 25 million years at current length of a generation). The human brain nearly tripled in mass in the last two million years. The dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago. The first life appeared on this planet about 3,500 million years ago and the sun will probably provide an environment conductive for life for probably another 5,000 million years. 400 years is nice, more manageable - we think - the millions of years perspective is not understandable. There is no emotional link. It ask to much of me to have empathy with so distant beings. And if they are not human, what motivation should I have to wish them well or act accordingly. My solidarity is with the here and now).
